Allied London Hopes to Spin Charity Cash

ALL across Manchester, people are going balloon barmy in the latest bid to raise funds for Children’s Hospitals.

The first-ever ’Big Balloon Race’ on Thursday May 26 will see 3,000 helium-filled balloons launched from Allied London’s Spinningfields development, which is close to the site of the first ever children’s hospital in Manchester.

It costs just £1 to enter a balloon in the race and the proud owner of the furthest travelling balloon will win £100 in cash, while the finder receives £20.

Balloons are available from various locations including the charity shops at both Booth Hall and Pendlebury Children’s Hospitals, or by calling the Appeals and Communications team on 0161 276 4522.

“We are delighted to be able to help with this innovative event by providing Spinningfields as the launch site,” says Michael Ingall, Chief Executive of Allied London.

“We wish the hospitals and participants every success with this first race and hope as many people as possible will buy a balloon and join in.”
